Activity Summary

In this Community Service activity, two textbooks will be developed regarding Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Photogrammetry. This activity was motivated by the lack of textbooks that detailed the concepts of GIS and Photogrammetry comprehensively and adequately according to the Indonesian context, which was the main impetus in starting this textbook preparation project. As a research team that focuses on these two areas, we have realized that local literature resources covering these important aspects are still limited. In addition, with technological advances and the need for an in-depth understanding of GIS and Photogrammetry in various sectors, textbooks that are rich in content and practical applications will make a significant contribution to the education and development of students' skills. Therefore, the methodology for preparing textbooks needs to consider not only curriculum needs, but also the local context and literacy development in the fields of GIS and Photogrammetry in Indonesia. By recognizing and addressing these challenges, it is hoped that this textbook will become a valuable and relevant resource for students and practitioners in the field of mapping and geographic information in Indonesia.

Target

The main goal is to present comprehensive and in-depth material regarding basic concepts in GIS and Photogrammetry. Textbooks must cover various aspects, including theory, practical applications, and the latest developments in the field. Presents information about the latest technology in GIS and Photogrammetry. For example, it covers the latest software and hardware developments used in mapping and spatial analysis. Stimulate student interest and motivation to be involved in research and innovation in the fields of GIS and Photogrammetry.

Testimonials

The lack of textbooks on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Photogrammetry in Indonesia has become a significant concern, especially for us STIG KK members. In this context, KK STIG as a group of lecturers responsible for this field, has observed that educational resources covering aspects of GIS and Photogrammetry at the national level are still limited. Especially amidst the current acceleration of changes in GIS and Photogrammetry technology.
