Activity Summary

This study proposes the design of improving the quality of baby socks with Methodology of Six Sigma Dmaic Approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) at PT Kahatex. In the define stage, the research object is determined, namely Baby Plain and Baby Terry's socks produced in related production areas. At the measure stage, measurements of stability and capabilities of the production process with sigma value of 2.34178 For baby plain socks and sigma value of 2.53614 for Baby Terry's socks. At the analyze stage, the determination of 4 types of defects will be examined using the Pareto Chart and other considerations. At the analyze stage also determines the factors and sub-causing sub-factors using the Delphi method and visualized into the form of causal diagrams. These factors and sub-factors will be determined by the priority using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, namely Selecting factors and sub-factors for each type of defect with the highest rpn value or Rp. Rp. At the control phase, the implementation schedule and SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) are prepared to ensure the alternative implementation of the solution is done properly. The results of this study indicate that Baby Plain and Terry's socks have 8 types disabled, but the most contributing to the low quality of baby plain socks and Terry is a flawless, dirt, disabled, and release track. There are 7 critical factors Causing Baby Plain and Baby Terry's defects in PT KX. From a total of 31 sub Factors that have been identified using the Delphi method, determined by 5 sub The defective causes factor that will be resolved by the problem is based on the value of Rp.
