Activity Summary

Population development and urbanization causes limited land for agriculture in urban areas. Urban farming is one of the solutions to overcome these problems because Urban farming uses open lands in the community. By developing urban farming, it can help to meet the food needs of the community. This activity will also help reduce family expenditure. Cibeunying Village, Bandung Regency has land that can be used for urban farming activities. This is supported by the presence of human resources, namely the Ash-Shamsi Mosque congregation, to manage the urban farming. The purpose of this program is to design and provide training in urban farming models/schemes that have the potential to help the community meet daily food needs. The results of the activity are the design of the aquaponic system which is a combination of aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics (plant cultivation) with the working principle of mutualism symbiosis. Types of plants that are cultivated can be in the form of vegetables and berries with fish distributed in the form of fish consumption of freshwater. In addition, designed models/cooperation schemes from various parties so that the Urban Farming program can be sustainable (sustainable) with an estimated economic calculation.
