In rearranging the economic conditions due to Covid-19 pandemic, the government focused on recovery one of them through the tourism sector. In the context of the recovery of the tourism sector, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) structured three Heritage Areas or Cultural Reserve Areas in Central Java, involving local governments (Source: www.solopos.com, accessed June 13, 2021). Lasem Square in Rembang Regency became one of the three Heritage Areas in Central Java conducted by the PUPR Ministry besides the Mangkunegaran Palace in the City of Surakarta and the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Semarang City. The area carried out by arrangement of around 10,000 m2 which includes the work of Lasem's square area, market building work, landscape work of the Jami Mosque and Arrangement of Karangturi, Kauman and Jatigoro. With the existence of structuring and physical development carried out by the government as an effort to improve the economy and tourism, it needs to be supported by increasing its human resource capacity. Especially supported by continuing to renew creativity, ideas and ideas that emerge from young people in Lasem Subdistrict. Lasem has many creative economic potential which can be developed mainly from historical heritage, cultural diversity, human resources and a variety of craft products that can be managed through a creative economic approach. In this effort, the Community Service Program team from ITB conducted a workshop for the preparation of creative economic road maps with the Lasem Heritage Foundation community on October 18-19 2021 to support Lasem tourism activities; Especially by utilizing experiences and experts of personnel who will collaborate closely with local stakeholders, especially the creative community, in Lasem sub-district.
Activity
Through ethnographic studies carried out, there are mapping of various cultural potentials in Lasem. The mapping can be a foundation in building various tourism programs with the topic of heritage in Lasem. In addition, ethnographic studies can dig more in wealth and creative economic potential that are still hidden in Lasem. In-depth discussions with the community and representatives from the regional government were then carried out and found that to support tourism infrastructure, it should be supported by the establishment of strong educational institutions in the field of art and culture in Lasem. This is a suggestion and input for the local government in developing the capacity of the younger generation in Lasem.
