The people of Mekar Village, Mekar, Bandung, have long lived from livelihoods as iron craftsmen for agricultural equipment. IKM iron craftsmen spread in 8 RWs in the village. Skills as iron craftsmen are inherited from generationally since the previous three generations. Based on the results of the mapping previously carried out by the LPPM team, it is necessary to improve the quality of products and understanding the community in the process of making agricultural equipment. The quality of these agricultural equipment products, especially hoes is basically determined by raw materials and the manufacturing process. The coaching of the IKM actors starts from the selection of the material and the procedure for making a hoe to achieve a particular quality criteria. The manufacturing procedure can help blacksmiths to produce consistent products. IKM perpetrators generally do not master metallurgical science but more prioritizing experience in making products for generations.
