According to the record of the Ministry of Religion, Indonesia has more than 279,000 mosques and more than 329,000 mushala. This data shows how many places to worship for Muslims in Indonesia. The number of many mosques is not balanced with good acoustic quality. A study published in 2019 with the title of the Perception of Sound Quality in a Mosque that acoustics are still a problem that is often found in a mosque. In the study it was explained that 45% of Survey respondents assumed that there were still acoustic problems in the mosques that were often visited. This shows that acoustic problems are still a common problem encountered in the mosque. The mosque is a place of worship where there are activities related to human voice such as sermons, prayers in congregation, reciting and other activities. These activities show how important acoustic conditions are good in the mosque. In Indonesia, the acoustic design of mosques is often not a priority when design. Even worse, there are still many assumptions that the acoustic quality in the mosque can be resolved by the sound system. When we speak acoustics in the mosque, there are actually two interrelated aspects, namely reflection conditions in a mosque and sound system. In general, the interior of a mosque is designed with hard material so that the sound will bounce in the room. On the one hand, this long echo will cause a large or magnificent room impression. However, this condition will make the sound sound unclear. In the condition of the room with this too long echo, the existence of a sound system will not solve the problem of acoustic conditions in the mosque. One of the challenges in resolving acoustic conditions in the mosque is an acoustic condition in a unique mosque with each other so that there is no one solution that can be applied to all mosques. Acoustic problems in the mosque can be influenced by many factors such as the form of mosques, materials in the mosque, noise conditions in the mosque, speaker selection, position of speaker installation, voice system selection and many other factors. The number of these factors causes the need for people who are able to overcome acoustic problems become essential. The existence of these people becomes more important considering the number of mosques that are very large in Indonesia.
