Oceanography Presentation for Indonesia (POSEIDON) 2024 is an initiative of the ITB "TRITON" Oceanography Student Association Management Board, which aims to develop oceanographic knowledge while providing a positive impact on society. This year, POSEIDON will be held in Pengarengan Village, Cirebon Regency, West Java, with the hope of creating synergy between academic knowledge and the real needs of coastal communities.
POSEIDON 2024 activities are divided into four main programs:
< ol>Through these programs, POSEIDON 2024 is expected to have a significant direct impact on the welfare of the Pengarengan Village community.
Application of oceanographic science as a means of introducing coastal ecotourism to the wider community. Empowering village residents to produce quality local products and services, increasing market access for local products, and strengthening village economic integration through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Increase public awareness about the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyles, especially in the context of coastal environments that are vulnerable to pollution and disease.
Organizing workshop activities by producing a packaging rebranding product from the UMKM Ranjungan Chips and Gesek Fish in Pengarengan Village to increase the selling power and marketing skills of the Village community. Promote and sell local products from Pengarengan Village, namely Ranjungan Chips and Gesek Fish which have been repackaged through exhibitions. Producing study documents for Pengarengan Mangrove Ecotourism and providing educational information boards to help develop tourist villages. Providing free counseling and health checks to help elderly people who do not have access to health assistance programs from the local government. Holding an exhibition of community service results attended by the general public to introduce Pengarengan Village as a tourist village and products produced by MSMEs.
