The program implementing team has provided learning material in the form of pictorial books for children who have good quality stories, visual elements and good leisiness. These books will be socialized and used in the activities of reading books with loud "to improve the visual understanding and language of students at elementary school levels, and increase their interest in reading. This program aims to: (1) to involve the role of the senior community community maximally in the development of the quality of formal education and increased interest interest in students, (2) oversee the implementation of the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 23 of 2015 which requires all schools to allocate 15 minutes for residents School reads books other than textbooks before the lesson begins. During the implementation of a loud reading program, the implementing team will record student responses and make it input to improve the quality of pictorial story books to be produced next. The method to be carried out in this program includes: recruitment of loud reading volunteers from society and senior citizens who are at the North Bandung Rotary Club (RCBU), loud reading training, and accompany volunteers to read books in the emported elementary school. The activity lasted for 5 months in the area of ​​Bandung. This community service is also a practical application activity of the DK 3208 �Lustration course and design of children's books in the FSRD - ITB to realize the transfer of science, technology and art that is beneficial for increasing children's reading interest from an early age. This ability will later be their provision to develop its scientific insights through reading various sources of literature with increased level of complexity in accordance with the growth of child cognition to reach the level of higher education.

Literacy capabilities, which include interpreting skills and responding to information in oral, print, visual and digital form are the determinants of academic success in universities. Today many students have difficulty reading academic text and expressing ideas in oral, written and visual forms. One reason is the low interest of reading them and not the growth of literacy culture in basic education. Higher Education, as a formal education institution at the highest level, is obliged to conduct research and assistance for improving the quality of formal education below it can produce learning students throughout life in all levels of education.
