Tourism Awareness Development Training Activities and Management Institutional Development Tourism in the Derawan Islands is part of the Bank Indonesia Social Program (PSBI) East Kalimantan Provincial Representative Office 2020-2022 in collaboration with Tourism Planning and Development Center (P-P2Par) ITB. Strategic Area National Tourism (KSPN) Derawan-Sangalaki and its surroundings including Derawan Island and Maratua Island in it has a strategic role for national tourism development especially for the outermost small island area which is directly adjacent to the neighboring waters.
Tourism Awareness and Development Training Program Tourism Management Institutions are expected to be a forum for building Competitive community-based tourism in the Derawan Islands.
This training includes two main aspects, namely fostering tourism awareness for the community and establishment of Pokdarwis institutions in each village. Further, training activities This is followed by mentoring activities until a Pokdarwis is formed complete with organizational tools, as well as tourism awareness programs in the Archipelago environment Derawan.
The closing of the training on Derawan Island was carried out with the inauguration of the new Pokdarwis for the 2020-2023 period by the head of the Culture and Tourism Office Berau District, while the closing of the training on Maratua Island was held in the afternoon at the SDN 001 Teluk Harapan yard led by the Maratua Sub-district Head.
This training can provide benefits for the community to realize the ideals of tourism development in the Derawan Islands
