Activity Summary

The water crisis is not only happening in the world, it is also happening in Indonesia. Several areas on the islands of Java and East Nusa Tenggara are often hit by drought and water crises. Various efforts to overcome drought or water crises include rain water harvesting, forest reforestation, forest conservation and others. Water sources are not only sea water, ground water, lakes and rivers but also the atmosphere or air containing water. As a tropical area, the water content in the air is quite high or known as high humidity. This potential will be utilized in community service this time. The goal of community service is to design, design tools that can capture water in the air. The prototype of the tool that will be made is called the Dew Net. The tool is designed to be simple, like the concept of leaves catching dew. The dew is caught using a net and then collected and the water is collected. With this method the water obtained is free from pollution, environmentally friendly and sustainable. This tool can be used in hilly areas where water is difficult or in coastal areas that are far from springs. The tools created still need to be developed on a large scale. It is hoped that it will be a solution to meet the need for clean water and improve the health and welfare of the Indonesian people's income.

Target

Design and make a water collector from the air or called a dew net. trial of water collector/dew net
