ITB through Community Service activities created a prototype waste monitoring system at TPS with a focus on optimizing the logistics of transporting regional waste. The waste monitoring tool built is based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using sensors to measure the height of waste in waste bins/containers. Data from this sensor will be sent to the server and displayed on the website in the form of a dashboard. This waste monitoring system prototype is designed to provide an accurate picture or visualization of the condition of waste bins/containers at TPS in real-time, so that waste management and transportation can be carried out more efficiently. The waste monitoring system at TPS is an innovative solution that can optimize waste transportation logistics in urban areas.

"First, increasing transportation efficiency, with real-time data regarding waste volume, the transportation fleet can be managed more effectively, thereby reducing operational costs and travel time. Second, reducing waste accumulation. This system can help prevent excessive waste accumulation at TPS by providing early warnings when capacity is almost full. Third, better environmental management, good waste management can reduce the risk of environmental pollution and negative impacts on public health. Fourth, data for planning; data generated from the monitoring system can be used by local governments for better waste management planning and policies. "
