Hapo Village is a region in North Maluku that experiences strategic development in infrastructure and regional development. There are transportation constraints towards the village, which causes difficulties for local residents. Floods are a major problem in the village of Hapo, which is complicated by the winding river condition and excavation that aggravates the flood. To overcome this, the installation of an early warning system (EWS) is carried out, supported by Waterproof Ultrasonic Sensors, Peilschaal, and CCTV. Nevertheless, unstable networks and extreme weather conditions are a challenge in sending accurate water level data. The flood vulnerability analysis model was also carried out, showing coastal areas and river mouths as areas with high vulnerability. In addition to the installation of a warning system, capacity building activities are carried out to increase community preparedness in dealing with disasters. This program received appreciation from local residents and emphasized the important role of the village government and the active participation of the community in maintaining the sustainability of the tools installed to increase preparedness in the face of flood disasters in Hapo Village.
