Activity Summary

Patani District is an area with huge fisheries potential. Obstacles faced by the community in the Yeisowo Village area, Kec. Patani, Central Halmahera District, North Maluku, including the knowledge of human resources (human resources) of fishermen regarding fisheries post-harvest processing and clean water management which is not yet optimal. Equipment problems in the cooling process were also found in this case, so there is a need for appropriate technology to overcome this problem. The technology offered in this activity can be used, namely designing fish storage on the basis of a cooling system to keep marine products fresh, from storage to distribution/transportation. Fish Storage is used mainly when bringing marine products to larger markets in Patani sub-district using motorbikes. Fish Storage is equipped with a battery as a power source during travel. Simulation of calculating electrical energy requirements by Fish Storage and determining how long the freshness level of fish will be in fish storage. This activity also shares knowledge about post-harvest processing of fisheries and clean water.

Target

Increase fishermen's income.

Testimonials

1. Design a fish preservation area based on cooling system technology using electrical power from batteries or other alternative energy sources 2. Promote post-harvest processing of fisheries to keep product quality fresh through local Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES)
