Activity Summary

Pineapple farmers in Kubu Raya Regency usually sell fresh fruit directly to middlemen. During the harvest season, production is abundant and pineapple is a commodity that is easily damaged and rots quickly, so if it is not sold within 2-3 days, the pineapple will rot, so it has to be sold at a cheap price. Some farmers and craftsmen process pineapple fruit into dry candied products, pineapple jelly candy and nata de pina, but marketing is still done locally, they cannot be marketed outside the region, let alone marketed to modern markets, and they cannot be marketed online. This condition is caused by the products produced not having PIRT, not being packaged properly and not being marketed and promoted using digital media.

The approach methods for implementing PPM are individual, group, institutional and collaborative approaches. The steps that have been implemented to help solve partner problems are Survey and Field Observation, Program Coordination and Socialization, Technology and Activity Design, Workshop Implementation, Mentoring and Implementation, Product Packaging Assistance, monitoring and evaluation of activities. The results obtained from PPM activities are increasing the capacity and competence of millennials to create packaging designs, product photography techniques and how to promote and market pineapple products. Young people are opening their own businesses to make packaging, product portraits and marketing pineapple products. Obtain a packaging design for Pineapple products. Obtain media and promotional tools. Packaged pineapple products can be promoted and marketed directly or through digital media. The time for implementing activities is from March to November 2024, with the activity location in Limbung Village, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. 



Target

Increasing the capacity and competence of millennials in Limbung Village to create packaging designs, product photography techniques and how to promote and market pineapple products by utilizing online digital media.
