Increasing the capacity of creative human resources at the SMA/K level in creating creative content is a strategic step to support tourism development and cultural preservation in East Kalimantan. With adequate digital media communication skills, the younger generation can become agents of change who contribute to regional progress, especially in welcoming East Kalimantan's role as the capital of the archipelago.
East Kalimantan is a province that has national strategic value, especially in relation to Mother Kota Negara (IKN) in North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Regencies, East Kalimantan. There have been many studies regarding East Kalimantan becoming an IKN, but there is a need to increase communication skills through digital media, literacy and technology, especially by increasing cultural resilience and supporting tourism promotion which has an impact on economic, social and cultural aspects in East Kalimantan. The potential and existence of this area needs to be empowered by the younger generation who are very close to digital media and become a major part of training and mentoring by ITB. The training and mentoring scheme will involve community engagement in East Kalimantan including local government, creative communities, SMA/K and others.
Young people, especially high school students, have potential big in maintaining cultural resilience through social media to support the National Capital (IKN) and Indonesian tourism. In this digital era, high school students who are proficient in using technology and social media can play an active role in creating creative and interesting content that promotes the richness of local culture and tourism.
Senior high school students can take advantage of platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube , and others to create various types of content highlighting tourist destinations, local traditions, culinary specialties, and cultural events. For example, they can create travel vlogs documenting visits to tourist attractions, showing the natural beauty, unique culture and friendliness of the local people. They can also make video tutorials about traditional dances, regional recipes, or stories about interesting local history and myths.
With their ability to create interesting visual content and engaging, high school students can help increase tourist interest and visits to various destinations in Indonesia. This not only supports the tourism industry, but also helps in cultural preservation by introducing local cultural values to a wider audience.
The active role of high school students in creating cultural and tourism content can also support the vision and mission of IKN as the center of government that reflects the diversity and richness of the nation's culture. By strengthening cultural identity through tourism promotion, they not only help preserve cultural heritage, but also contribute to economic development through the tourism sector.
Support from the younger generation is very important to ensure that Indonesia's cultural values and traditions continues to live and develop amidst the times. Thus, this effort not only strengthens national identity but also supports the development of IKN which is culturally insightful and has the potential to become a superior cultural tourism destination.

Maximizing Digital Platforms and optimizing social media utilization strategies to convey visual stories that are interesting and easily accessible to a global audience. Encouraging Positive Narratives and making Generation Z agents of change who tell positive stories about Indonesian tourism and culture, while building the image of IKN as a symbol of modernity that still respects tradition.
