Serang Regency has a population of around 1.6 million people (BPS data for 2021/2022), with the number of secondary level students reaching 46,521 junior high school students and 12,842 Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) students. At the upper level, there are 64,872 SMA/SMK students and 8,214 Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students. This number reflects the significant need for teaching staff in the fields of science and mathematics. Serang Regency has around 1,450 science teachers spread across SMP and MTs, both public and private. Challenges faced include the availability of advanced training in experimental and technology-based teaching (BPS Serang Regency, 2021). There are around 1,300 mathematics teachers at this level. Their teaching focus includes increasing numeracy literacy and developing students' logical thinking abilities (Ministry of Education and Culture, 2021). At the SMA/MA level, there are around 800 physics, chemistry and biology teachers. Physics teachers in particular are faced with the challenge of integrating laboratory experiments with Merdeka curriculum-based learning (BPS Serang Regency, 2021). The number of mathematics teachers at this level reaches 650 people. They have a strategic role in preparing students for national exams, science competitions and higher education (Ministry of Religion, 2021). Seeing the large number of students and teachers, this activity has had a significant impact on the development of education in Serang Regency and its surroundings.
